President

Clifford Gill

Clifford started his career with Sutton Cricket Club as a second team scorer and then continued as a player in 1939.

During the Second World War, Clifford took a break from cricket for four years whilst he served in the Royal Air Force. After completing his time with the RAF Clifford resumed his association with the club playing for Sutton's first team and the Craven League team, he then went on to captain the second team for a number of years. Clifford is the only surviving member of the Sutton in Craven team who won the "Wynn Cup" in 1947.

Clifford has not only given to the Club as a player but has also served as Ground's Man, Coach and has held various positions on the Committee, and is still very active within the Clubs structure today.

Married to his wife Mary for 55 years they have four children Sharon, Andrew, Julie and Sean.

Chairman

Stuart Robinson

Stuart has been a resident in Sutton in Craven since 1987 but has spent much of that time away serving in the Royal Navy. Since leaving the Navy in 2001, Stuart has given the best part of his spare time to community projects in the village. He was Chairman of the Village Committee from 2001 to late 2006.

After stepping down as Chairman he remained on the committee for a further six months until deciding to take a break altogether to concentrate on his own time and family projects. This was not to be and was very quickly seconded to the Cricket Club committee and he was elected Chairman in November 2007.

Stuart is a keen cricket player and hopes his enthusiasm both on and off the field will help the club to move forward.

A family man, Stuart is married to Christine (who helps with the tea on match days) and has two daughters Victoria and Claire (Scorer for Sutton's second team).

Cricket Development Manager

Chris Todd

Chris has been living in the village since 1985 when he married Katrina. He is the manager of the local branch of Barclays Bank where he has worked since 2001 and has always been involved in village life having been Treasurer of the village committee from 1999 to 2007 and school governor at Sutton CP since 2000 and Chair since 2006.

Chris started playing cricket at school and previous clubs have included Shelf, Northowram and Southowram in the Halifax league but mainly Halifax Salem where in 1988 the club were promoted from the second division of the Halifax & District Amateur league setting a record of not losing one single game and Chris winning the club bowling averages. Sutton entered into the story around 1990 when his first son Stuart was born and travelling to Halifax was no longer an option. He subsequently captained the 2nd XI for one year but due to family commitments retired supposedly in 1994 to play golf!

However in 2007 with his second son Simon  now playing for Sutton U13's and second XI he was talked out of retirement and started playing again at the end of that season. He was voted into the Cricket Development Officer post in 2007 for the club.

Now an active member of the committee he would like to see the club continue its progress and looks forward to the opening of the new pavilion in 20......
